How can we restore our health?
My mission statement & aim is to help people restore their health, energy & feelings of well-being.
This sounds simple doesn’t it – and in fact it can be.
In order to be healthy, we need to be in our natural state of balance (or homeostasis).
The most common contributing factors that throw us out of balance tend to be attributed to one (or several) of the following:
Stress
Unresolved emotional trauma
Systemic inflammation (mostly the result of an acidic pH & an imbalance in the microbiome in the gut)
Inability to remove toxins effectively
Diet
Environmental factors, lifestyle choices
Lack of relaxation & self-care
What we don’t realise is that when our body is expressing “symptoms” it is telling us what needs to be rebalanced. Inflammation which brings pain, swelling etc can point towards an acidic pH. So, this could lead to us to looking to rebalance the microbiome in the gut (for example) as well as looking at food choices, whilst we bring the pH more back into balance, at which point the symptoms of pain, swelling etc will start to subside & your body will start to heal.
I work only with clean food-based supplements, homeopathic remedies & tinctures.
Gongs & Sound Therapies
This is still relatively unknown as a therapy & its great potential for healing.
We mostly live our lives in the “fight or flight” mode. On a physical level this pumps out cortisol which is the stress hormone, making energy move to the areas to increase our alertness & possibly run away (as was necessary in the hunter/gatherer era under threat of an oncoming tiger!). There is a need for this, of course, but we also need to be able to “switch off” which can present a challenge for some.
The constant pumping out of cortisol has the effect of knocking out our endocrine system & the organ that often shows up as being exhausted (apart from the adrenal glands) is the pancreas. This has such an important role to play in our endocrine & digestive system, that it is not surprising that the end result is many ailments that are directly related to hormonal imbalances & digestive issues.
Whilst it is important to feed our physical body with the right nutrients, it is also equally important to remember that we are made up of energy which acts as the communication network in the brain & the nervous system.
Hence the gongs & sound therapies come in.
The sounds are received through our ears but are then interpreted by our brain. The brain alters its frequency (brain waves) to align with the sounds & thus we find that it is impossible not to surrender & relax as the brain waves start to slow us down (including the chattering monkey brain that likes to keep us focused on our “to-do lists” rather than being present in the moment!). There is also evidence that it connects the left & right hemispheres of the brain, so over time can help us to feel more balanced, access more of our creative & intuitive abilities & feel generally more able to cope with stress & life’s challenges!

I live in the beautiful town of Stamford, Lincolnshire.
I love being in town & life in our house is always busy with friends & my teenage daughters’ friends regularly popping in!
I am so lucky to have the Town Meadows close by where I can escape the chaos or clear my head with a daily walk with my dogs.
